1. Introduction

Beijing College Student Film Festival was launched in 1993, approved by the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of the People's Republic of China (SAPPRFT), Ministry of Education and Beijing government, hosted by Beijing Normal University, undertaken by Arts and Media School of Beijing Normal University, and co-organized by CCTV-6, China Film Archive, China Education TV Station, China Film Fund Association, China Film News Paper Agency, Beijing Radio TV Station, Beijing TV Station, Beijing Film Company, Beijing Film Producers Association, Beijing TV Artists Association, Beijing Youth League Committee, Beijing Students Association etc.

College Students’ Original Film Festival, a crucial part of Beijing College Student Film Festival, was released in 2000 to stimulate students’ creativity and originality and cultivate new talents in TV and film industry.Up till now, 18 film festivals has been successfully hosted. It has become an eye catching and well-known competition for students’ works in China and beyond with the longest history and biggest influence in Chinese-speaking areas.

3. Awards

The awards includes cash and certifications in different categories. In drama, the producer with the best drama shall be awarded 4000 yuan, the best director 2000 yuan, the best scriptwriter 1000 yuan, the best photographer 1000 yuan, the video editor 1000 yuan, the best actor 1000 yuan and the best actress 1000 yuan; In cartoon, the producer with the best cartoon shall be awarded 3000 yuan; In documentary, the producer with the best documentary shall be awarded 3000 yuan; In experimental short film, the best shall be awarded 3000 yuan; In the collaborative sector, ten films shall win special attention award and the chance to Montreal World Film Festival. Meanwhile, the producer with best choice award in Hivideo shall be awarded 3000 yuan and recommended to Montreal World Film Festival. Last but not least, the college with best organized award shall be given 2000 yuan.
