On June 19th, HBAFA witnessed the 2018 bachelor degree awarding ceremony in Han style, which was attended by Zhen Zhongyi, the President, Zhang Jianmin, Executive Vice President, Zhang Ziyan, Vice President, Zhen Xinheng, Vice President, Zhen Mo, Vice President, Sun Zhiqiang, Vice President and Deputy Party Secretary, as well as experts, scholars, and students’ parents. The graduates were bathed by traditional Chinese culture.

The Wen Temple was decorated with red silk and colorful flags. With Han-style clothes, the teachers and students stood before the temple hall solemnly, paying tribute to Confucius, the sage of Chinese people.

When the time was up, President Zhen Zhongyi offered incense to the statue of Confucius and read the oration. He said current China is rich and strong and education is the root of the nation.

Standing in the centre of the temple hall, President Zhen Zhongyi “touched students’ heads”, gave the diploma to them, and told them to shoulder more responsibilities in the future.

After the ceremony, the graduates in Han-style clothes took many photos with friends and teachers. Zhou Shuai, a student in the School of Environmental Arts, said he was fond of the traditional graduation ceremony and sure he would have a bright future with the Academy’s wishes.

Shi Wen, a counsellor in the School of Media, said the Academy preferred to make students learn traditional Chinese culture. It would make students a useful person.

The Academy places emphasis on traditional culture education. There are Wen Temple and Wu Temple in the campus. Meanwhile, many institutes have been established, such as Zhuangzi Research Centre, Guan Hanqing and Wang Shifu Research Centre. In the future, the Academy will stick to the education principle and cultivate more talents for Chinese nation.
